There's been a bit of activity around these parts recently, so I'm gonna go for it and ask if any people from the 'early fandom days' of, like 2001ish have a copy of Sleight of Hand by Leelah, or Into the Rose Garden by waterhyacinth or Stargazer or, you know, fics that once existed but no longer do due to loveisblindness waving a hand as it walked into the sunset. So I'm saying goodbye to LJ (thanks to the new user agreement which is skeevy as hell), and I was wondering if anyone who plans on sticking around would want to take over modding here? Clearly it's pretty quiet in these parts; the last post here was almost a whole year ago.

I would put the age restriction on to automatically check the birthdates of new users (I've been doing it manually since LJ made that rule), so basically all you'd have to do is stash any fic in the memories and make sure no one gets into internet fights. (Has that even happened in this comm like ever??)

Drop a comment if you think you'd be into it, and if by chance multiple people want to do it, I'll flip a coin or something :D

I don't know how many people still read this, but loveisblindness.net is down and has been for a few weeks now. Some of the fic is accessable via wayback machine but a lot of it isn't and it's very sad. I was hoping someone might have access to the admin of the page, it would be such a shame to lose such a great site that's been around for so long!

It feels a little funny to be posting my third fic in a row when no one else has written in months, but the muse is singing so I'm just going to go with it. It' my favorite paring, so I hope I did them a little justice, the lovelies. Thanks again to gloriau2 for her help and support.

The lights of Dublin didn't quite reach as high as the roof of The Village. Clotted crowds of adrenaline-charged young people had drained away, leaving the venue empty and still. Glaring pools of yellow streetlight casted on greasy pavement. Overhead thin summer clouds stranded over the twilit color of Irish night. The moon had long since sunken below the tatty horizon, and Bono and Edge were left on a flat platform of darkness between city and sky.

There were a few other people left on the roof, either passed out on a rusted divan or curled up together in the shelter of the chimney pots. The afterparty had migrated up here as it often did, but after several hours of partying the others had fallen asleep in corners or gone off to find a bed in somebody's house. Ali was out of town visiting relatives and Bono had very little desire to go find another place to sleep. Certainly he had none to go home.

"Edge?" he said, addressing the head that rested on his belly.

I've seen characters cast as old men at the end of their lives in other fandoms, but not in U2 world yet. Do you all know of any? Because while tragic the ones I've seen are almost unbearably sweet and introspective.

I fancy reading Adam Clayton/Martin L. Gore from Depeche Mode.
