attention: admin post!

Hey everyone. Just your friendly neighborhood co-mod sticking a nose in for a moment. Please bear with me.

First thing: I've been doing my best to keep up-to-date on the memorifying of fics posted here, but I'm well aware of the fact that I can make mistakes. And frequently do. If you notice anything memorified incorrectly and/or missing, etc. please let me know (e-mail: rhythmsextion@gmail.com) and I'll take care of it as soon as I can. Seriously, I'm an anal completist when it comes to this sort of thing and I know I miss things and it bugs the hell out of me, so give me a nice poking or something and I'll love you forever. Oh yes.

Secondly: I've been contemplating starting up a challenge community that's similiar to [livejournal.com profile] anothergrape except that it'd be operated bi-weekly, open to anyone and everyone in the community who's willing to participate and would not be judged, but instead merely stand as a way to get people inspired into writing the hot gay Irish man action. I brought this idea up with a few people recently and was pretty much persuaded into bringing it straight (heh) into [livejournal.com profile] u2slash instead of creating a whole new community.

However, before deciding on whether or not to go through with this, I'd like to see if anyone is really interested or not. I mean, I don't want to start up something that no one's gonna give a damn about, right?

So. My question to you all is...

[Poll #661620]

Please feel free to add a comment to this post if you have anything to add or input regarding this. I'm open to any and all suggestions and opinions.

Thanks, everyone!

Back in the day, I was on an X-Files mailing list, and we'd do periodic challenges. They weren't regularly scheduled or anything, but the Mod would give a few elements (ended up being spoilers taken out of context, but a lot of people didn't realize. heh), and anybody who wanted to play would play. It turned out really well, and we'd get some touching stories and some screamingly hilarious bits from the same "assignments".

my .02: You could have specific pairings for some challenges, and for others you can just assign specific objects or places or themes or whathaveyou and they can write whomever they want. Just mix them up and don't have them necessarily all be the same format, is what I'm saying. It would probably keep more people interested over time.

And for some reason I'm picturing you doling out the challenges like so:

Professor Plum Bono in the Billiard Room with a double-ended dildo

I have no idea why.

I blame Queer!Bono's plum colored shirt. ;)
