I need some help from you, dear ladies. After finally getting repeated RL disasters settled down, I'm slowly trying to work my way back into writing again. Unfortunately, I'm still coming up against the same problem I had several years ago - I simply CANNOT write U2 slash. I have no idea why, since this is the fandom that actually means the most to me. And I have written multiple fics that I'm reasonably happy with for other fandoms (LOTR & 30 Seconds to Mars, primarily). I don't know what the problem is, but it's become my goal in life to write a decent U2 fic. My question is this - how do you get your muses kick-started? Do you create a story in your mind before committing it to "paper"? Do you see a picture and make up a backstory for it? Does your knowledge of "real" U2 affect how you write your characters? I really appreciate any thoughts or ideas since this is extremely frustrating for me! :)
