Okay, so... not only has there not been a post for the latest challenge, there hasn't been a single, solitary fic posted on the community since the challenge was posted. That's three weeks ago! I know it's slow in the fandom right now, but I'm going through withdrawals here, guys.

There is a point to this post other than whining, though: This is your reminder that the challenge ends at 1159pm PST on Monday, November 5th. Get postin'! You've got 22 hours.

Here we are again. And... no entries! Not one. So sad! I had high hopes for zany costume fic, but alas, it was not meant to be. If any fics are posted after tonight, they will be located here along with the prompt.

But hey! I think I'm going to try a different tack this time. Instead of just whining for you to post, I'll give an incentive. Whoever posts the most challenge response fics by January 7th of 2008 gets a prize. I'm not going to share with you what the prize is at the moment, but it will be a choice of prizes. And hey, there will even be a runner-up prize, too. Plus, like, a banner or something if anyone wants it. Okay? So, start your Word files! The idea here is to encourage people to post, because I think maybe some people are intimidated to post to the challenges or in general, and I want to let you know that it doesn't have to be a magnum opus to be included in the challenge. Get a beta to read it, sure, but it doesn't have to be Hawkmoon: Redux to qualify as good fic. Fret not! Short and sweet is good. So is something fun and silly. Don't stress. (Also note, the fics do not need to be in on time to be counted, but they do need to be in before January 7th.)

Now, onto the more immediate... the next challenge! I think there hasn't been enough Zoo fic around lately, don't you? I mean, I know there is plenty of it in the archives, but not enough Zoo love recently. So I'm posting my three favorite slashy quotes from my favorite Zoo-era U2 book: U2 At the End of the World, aka The Orange Bible. I'm hoping this will inspire slashiness. The quotes get a bit long, so click here to read them. )

So, there you have it. It's up to you! Go backward or forward in time with the anecdotes, interpret their deeper meanings, or give another POV on the situation. Or even extrapolate something from this and go in a different direction; anything that was inspired by these quotes is fair game. Use one, two or all three quotes! Whatever works for you. Just remember that the deadline is 1159pm PST on November 26th. As always, any suggestions or questions can be emailed to me at my username at gmail.
