I've got a topic for discussion that I think would be interesting, and if there's enough of a response I'll post it on The Processor.

I myself took a three-year hiatus from writing U2 slash, and when I came back I was looking thorugh my old fics, and I found that my feelings see-sawed with just about every scene. One minute I'd be thinking, "HA! I am SUCH a genius for having written that!" and then the next bit I'd be thinking, "Yikes. I can't believe I thought THAT was hot."

(And you know what? I don't even REMEMBER writing that spanking scene. Honestly. But there it is, on my website. It's a crazy, mixed-up world.)

So my topic for y'all is: How do you feel when you look back on your old fics? How do you think you've improved as a writer? What have you improved on the most: the smut, the storyline, or the characterization? Are there some things you wish you'd never written? Have you ever posted something thinking it was so-so, but then over time you get a hundred e-mails about how great it was? Has taking time off from the biz changed the way you wrote, or felt about, U2 slash?
